Pettineo is a little agricultural centre in the province of Messina. On the middle of the island, it is a perfect place to visit both West and East part of Sicily. Pettineo in fact is just 40 km from Cefal� with its wonderful Dom, 95 km from Palermo and 165 from Messina. Pettineo rises along the coast on a hilly. Over the centuries the town was ruled by several feudatories and members of the aristocratic class such as �I Ventimiglia� in the XIII and XV century and �I Valguarnera�. The most beautiful and important places to visit are : the Cathedral Church where it is kept a marble triptych attributed to Gagini and the ruins of a castle and Capuchin convent of the second half of the XV century. Pettineo is also part of the art itinerary �La Fiumara�. La Fiumara is an open air museum where several contemporary artists both Italians and foreigners have created modern sculptures. The aim of this project is to create a symbiosis between art and nature. This itinerary, ideated by Antonio Presti, develops along the coast and inside the Natural Reserves of Mountains Nebrodi and Madonie. The nearest beach of Castel di Tusa is just 6.5 km from the villa, just 10 min by car. Another important town near Pettineo is Santo Stefano di Camastra known for the production of ceramics.
